IndiaJoy 2024 marked an important milestone in shaping the future of the AVGC-XR (Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics, and Extended Reality) industry in Andhra Pradesh. Amidst India’s largest digital entertainment festival, APVAGA’s founding members joined discussions that would set the groundwork for building a dedicated association to represent Andhra Pradesh’s creative technology ecosystem.
The event brought together pioneers and thought leaders from across the southern media industry, including Ashish Kulkarni, Chairman of the AVGC-XR Forum at FICCI, who guided early discussions on policy frameworks and the structure of a regional AVGC association.
The session also saw participation from founders and co-founders of leading animation and VFX studios from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, who shared their vision for nurturing talent, improving policy support, and positioning the state as a key player in India’s creative economy.
What began as a conversation at IndiaJoy 2024 has since evolved into a united effort to formalize Andhra Pradesh’s presence in the national AVGC-XR landscape — leading to the creation of APVAGA, an association dedicated to empowering creators, studios, and innovators across the state.
