In a pivotal step toward advancing the creative technology ecosystem of Andhra Pradesh, representatives from APVAGA met with IT Secretary Shri Bhaskar Katamneni at AP Secretariat to discuss the evolving landscape of the Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics, and Extended Reality (AVGC-XR) industry in the state.
The meeting focused on evaluating the current state of the AVGC-XR sector in Andhra Pradesh and identifying pathways to expand its reach through skill development, employment generation, and sustainable revenue streams. Key challenges faced by studios, educators, and professionals in the sector were discussed, with a shared goal of developing actionable strategies to strengthen industry-academia collaboration and infrastructure.
During the meeting, the APVAGA team also presented the first draft of the Andhra Pradesh AVGC-XR Policy, meticulously prepared after studying and benchmarking existing state and national frameworks. This policy aims to position Andhra Pradesh as a frontrunner in India’s digital creative economy — fostering innovation, supporting local talent, and attracting global collaborations.
This interaction marked a significant milestone in APVAGA’s ongoing dialogue with the Government of Andhra Pradesh.
